Christopher Michael: About...

Christopher Michael - General bio

Christopher Michael – This multi-genre songwriter/artist/producer showed up on the radar late in 2005 after self-releasing “Visions”, a six song EP, (and a 3 year old recording), on a next-to-zero budget. His writing style overall is widely stylistically varied, but his self-released debut solo EP is a more alternative pop-rock recording. Here’s what critics are saying about Christopher Michael:

“Would be hard to doubt that (songs) from Christopher Michael would be getting equal radio play with bands like Matchbox20, Goo Goo Dolls, and Lifehouse on Adult Alternative Radio.” - Ryan T. White / MusicShopper

“Stuff from Christopher fits perfectly with all the rock shows around the world. So this means that his music is easy listening and the songs are from three to five minutes. Christopher has written some really interesting and well-worked compositions with a touch of pop music and this makes the whole project easy listening. For sure all the fans of pop/rock will adore the stuff from Christopher.”-Antonis Maglaras/PowerPlay Records

“The songs are loaded with cool guitar hooks, a monstrously melodic bass, and an adrenaline charged percussion so wonderfully tense that it’s as though the performers are on the brink of exploding.” – Holly Day/MusicDish Network

“A warm and radio friendly recording, with a sound that invites comparison to bands such as matchbox twenty.” – Rosemary Pratka/The Morning Call

"With the opening track Help me now to the last track hold me this is a great little CD and has little to improve on. The Lyrics are well thought and the music has a nice even flow to it. All in all this is a great debut disc by this singer. The guitars are well done and over all production of the disc is well made. Hi was a great track on this disc !!"

So, this is where I get to write about me huh? Well, then, here's how it all started.....

I have been singing and performing ever since I can remember... I remember being a really young kid, and my sister, cousin, and me would put on "shows" at family functions and charge everyone a quarter to see the "concert". When no one was around, we would videotape our various performances-always hammin' it up for the camera.

Then moving on as a teenager, it was my 2 twin friends and I having a little (sucky, cheesy) vocal group. That didn't last long. High school came around and sports became the thing... until senior year... then I picked up a guitar for the first time.

From there all my plans for college went out the window. EVERYTHING became about music. I wanted to get signed and be a musician. So I formed a band. We did great! Within 3 years, we played tons of clubs in NJ-and lots in NY too, signed with a indie label, and recorded an album with them - (they soon after went bankrupt and it was never released). This disheartened the other members, and the band was pretty much done.

Music is a part of me and my life, so I forged on by myself. I began writing new songs. I jammed in a few different bands, Then finally, After much saving up, (a few years) , I went to the recording sudio and began laying down 10 songs. Six would become my "Visions' CD. That was 2003.

After much hard work and many, many, many live gigs at soooo many clubs in NJ, PA, and NY, my EP "Visions" was "released" in mid 2005. It got considerable college and online radio play , and some outstanding reviews. Considering it was self-released on a next-to-zero budget, and only available online and at live shows, I am happy to say that the first printing has almost sold out :)
